Unbelievable Things That My High School Students Have Said

About the Illustrator

Jessica Blankenship was born in November of 1985, graduated from New Richmond High School in 2004 and the College of Mount St. Joseph in 2009 with a BA in Art Education.  She enjoys various art forms but has an extra interest in drawing and painting and has taught many freelance art courses such as an adult oil painting class at a local art gallery.  From an internship held at the Taft Museum of Art, she also learned how to creatively implement a Summer Art Camp and has now directed two summers of her own version in Amelia, OH at an outdoor activities camp called Woodland Lakes.  This coming year will be the third annual Art Camp and each have grown in numbers and support.  Children from ages 5-7, 8-10, and 11-14 are provided an art and outdoor immersion that is unforgettable.  She enjoys combining hands-on activities within the arts that allow students the enriching and educational resources of the outdoors.

Currently, Mrs. Blankenship is teaching a private home-school curriculum to a 10th grade student.  In her personal life, she takes pleasure in drawing and painting wildlife and landscapes, family pastimes and participating in church activities.  She has been married for five years to a wonderful man, Brad, and is a step-mother to his son, Hunter.  Brad and Jessica are currently expecting their first daughter, Avery, due in May of 2011.  Jessica hopes to do more illustrating in her future because of how much satisfaction came to her from having a part in What Did You Say?.
